Working Group 8

Validation

WG8 is responsible for the validation of lexical resources such as corpora, machine readable dictionaries and lexical databases, and lingware for the creation, reuse, maintenance, meliorisation and exploitation of linguistic data. It will further prepare a proposal for the adaptation and conversion of existing public domain tools for the automatic validation of language resources including their language-specific aspects.

WG 8 will engage in these joint activities:

1. Creation of an analytic framework for the validation of non-SGML corpora
2. Compilation of a directory of Validation Tools (in cooperation with WG 4 and 5)
